Scheme of Arrangement Services

Chiltington has recently included on its website a section listing the companies that either are now or have previously pursued a scheme of arrangement to resolve their liabilities. We have also tried, where it is available, to add useful information unique to a specific scheme of arrangement.

This will be an ongoing service that we provide free of charge to those companies who visit our website. Our presence in the marketplace gives Chiltington an added value capability that we pass on to our clients providing market intelligence to use when dealing with the scheme company.

Accompanying this facility, Chiltington offers a complete range of services that can assist our clients in dealing with companies that have elected a scheme of arrangement process. The services we provide to our clients include:

• Checking their historical policy information to help determine if their business is part of the scheme and, if so, then how it applies to a client’s circumstances;
• Contacting the scheme company to verify that all policies are recognized and accounted for in the scheme;
• Assisting with the completion of the claim (and vote, if this is required), help in compiling supporting information and documentation to substantiate the claim;
• Working with a client as to the IBNR presentation;
• Acting as a liaison between our client and the scheme company (but recognizing that we are working for the client);
• Filing a finalized vote or scheme claim; and
• Negotiating a final settlement for our client.
